Car history: |
2) Built on October 9th of 1968, this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette was originally sold at Held Chevrolet Company in Kenyon, Minnesota. The original purchaser was a gentleman named Dean Lipps whose photographs with the car are included with the records. A very thorough set of service records exists for the Chevrolet which extend from 1975, through the present time including everything from minor service to the restoration which is also documented photographically. Documenting the originality of the car is the tank sticker, and also the original dealer invoice which still on file at Held Chevrolet when the last owner contacted them in 2010! The car has benefited from a complete frame off restoration back to original condition. It has excellent bodywork and now sports a base/clear paint job that has been color sanded and buffed to a high sheen. The chrome has been re-done and the original trim has been refinished. The undercarriage has a high level of detail, correct factory finishes and correct factory inspection marks. The interior has all new soft parts throughout including the seats, door panels and carpeting. All of the gauges work properly as do all of the vacuum components, and fiber optics. The Corvette has the matching numbers engine, matching numbers transmission, and correct AU code 3.36 Posi HD rear end. They have all been mechanically overhauled and the car start, runs and drives in an excellent manner. The car has the correct intake, correct heads, correct exhaust manifolds, correct water pump, and correct alternator. Built date is C09 from the trim plate. BiN $54,900. September 14, 2015 1) PROFESSIONAL FULL FRAME OFF RESTORATION EVERY NUT AND BOLT ON AN ORIGINAL 4-OWNER NO HIT BODY 69 CORVETTE WITH ITS ORIGINAL ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND DIFF. THIS RESTORATION WAS COMPLETED IN 2003. I PURCHASED THE CORVETTE IN 2004 AND SINCE THE COMPLETION OF THE RESTORATION THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN ABOUT 500 MILES PUT ON THE CORVETTE TO DATE. THE CORVETTE IS STORED IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED GARAGE WITH SEVERAL OTHER CORVETTES IN MY COLLECTION. I HAVE A 3 INCH BINDER WITH A COMPLETE SET OF PICTURES OF THE RESTORATION FROM START TO FINISH INCLUDING 95 per cent OF THE RECEIPTS FOR ALL OF THE PARTS AND LABOR. I ALSO HAVE A COMPLETE LIST OF THE OWNER HISTORY WITH RECEIPTS DATING BACK TO 1976 WHICH DOCUMENT THE ORIGINAL MILES. THE GUY THAT I PURCHASED THE CORVETTE FROM OWNED IT FROM 1981 TO 2003 (22 YEARS!). THIS CORVETTE ARRIVED FROM THE FACTORY IN 1969 WITH THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS (THESE OPTIONS ARE RIGHT OFF OF THE ORIGINAL TANK STICKER WHICH WAS RECOVERED DURING THE RESTORATION PROCESS). ZQ4 AA = STD BLK/V L36 AA = 390 HP TURBO-JET V8 G81HA = POSITRACTION AXLE 336RA M21AA = 4-SPEED CLOSE RATIO TRANS PT7AA = F70X15 WHITE STRIPE TIRE U69EA = AM/FM PUSHBUTTON RADIO AOIAA = SORT RAY TINTED GLASS A82ZF = HEAD RESTRAINTS GS3AA = POSI AXLE 336 J50WA = POWER BRAKES N40AK = POWER STEERING THE BODY WAS REMOVED, CLEANED AND BEAD BLASTED. A SPIES HECKER POLYESTER 3508 PRIMER WAS APPLIED AND THE BODY WAS HAND BLOCK SANDED. A PPG BASE COAT CLEAR COAT PAINT WAS USED FOR THE ORIGIANL LEMANS BLUE PAINT. THE PAINT IS STILL VERY VERY NICE (9 .5 OUT OF 10). THERE IS ONLY ONE SMALL SPOT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK QUARTER PANEL ON THE FENDER LIP ABOUT A 1/2 INCH. (THE MARK IS ONLY IN THE PAINT AND NOT THE FIBERGLASS!) I WAS GOING TO GET IT FIXED BUT DIDN'T TRUST ANYONE AND THOUGHT THAT IT MAY LOOK WORSE SO I TOUCHED IT UP & LEFT IT ALONE. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE. ALL OF THE DOORS, HEAD LIGHTS AND HOOD LINE UP VERY NICE AS THEY SHOULD. THE GLASS IS ALSO IN GOOD SHAPE AND ORIGINAL. INTERIOR: THE INTERIOR IS BRANd NEW. ALL NEW DOOR PANELS, CARPET, SEAT FOAM AND SEAT COVERS WERE INSTALLED. THE DASH PAD AND GAUGES ARE PERFECT. THE FIBER OPTICS WERE RESTORED AND ALL OF THE GAGES AND INTERIOR LIGHTS FUNCTION CORRECTLY. THE RADIO HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A FACTORY CORVETTE RADIO AND SPEAKER BAR IN THE BACK BEHIND THE SEATS. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE DURING INSTALLATION. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL RADIO IN A BOX THAT GOES WITH THE CAR. UNDER CARRIAGE: THE UNDER CARRIAGE STILL LOOKS LIKE BRANd NEW. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THIS CAR IN ANY TYPE OF INCLIMATE WEATHER. IT HAS NOT SEEN ANY MOISTURE OR RAIN SINCE ITS RESTORATION. ALL OF THE FACTORY MARKINGS WERE RE-APPIED AND THE FACTORY STENCIL DATE WAS INSTALLED AS WELL. THE ORIGINAL LEAF SPRING WAS REMOVED AND A FIBERGLASS ONE WAS INSTALLED. THIS CAN BE EASILY REMOVED IF YOUR LOOKING FOR THE FACTORY LOOK. (BETTER RIDE). I HAVE SOO MUCH INFORMATION ON THE RESTORATION THAT I COULDN'T POSSIBLY LIST IT ALL. REMEMBER,THIS WAS A COMPLETE BODY OFF THE FRAME RESTORATION WITH EVERYTHING RE-DONE AND GONE THROUGH. 91,543 miles. Colors from the trim plate. April 14, 2008. |
